Technical Support Services

This Division provides management and administrative support to the Department's five operations divisions - Engineering Operations, Asset Management, Water/Waste, Plantand Technical Supprot Services. .

  • Engineering Operations carries out maintenance and improvement works on rural roads, town streets, stormwater drainage, bridges and culverts. The Division also maintains Council's parks, recreation and cleansing services.

  • Water/Waste manages the supply of potable water to the towns of Scone and Aberdeen, along with the transport, treatment and disposal of sewage and solid waste. 

  • Technical Support Services provides saleyards services, operates the Scone Regional Airport, maintains eight cemeteries within the Shire, maintains Council's buildings, radio communications,  bush fire control and emergency services.

  • Assets aims to establish and maintain assets which enhances the public domain and improves the amenity of the shire

  • Plant aims to:
          To efficiently  manage Councils plant fleet within Councils Management Plan and a 10 year replacement program            Manage the maintenance and scheduled replacement of Councils plant fleet 
  •  Technical Support Services:
          To efficiently manage the capital, labour, plant and materials resources made available to the Department and so allow the four operational divisions to maximise their delivery of technical services to the community in accordance with Council’s Management Plan.
  Domestic and Other Waste:          To achieve and maintain environmentally sound waste management practices to meet community and statutory  expectations
