Council's New Administration Centre Includes Baby Change Facilities
Last modified: September 8, 2009 - 9:23 AM
Council's new Administration Centre in Liverpool Street, Scone is leading the way in assisting families with small children. The new Administration Centre has included a public toilet with baby change facilities.
The inclusion is based on the need identified by the community in relation to the lack of facilities for parents in the CBD area of Scone.
When relocating the Scone Branch of the Upper Hunter Regional Library Service and co-location of other community services, Council will also endeavour to further improve facilities for families by including designated breastfeeding and baby change areas in the plans.
Mayor, Cr Michael Johnsen said, "The inclusion of these facilities in the new administration centre will especially be of assistance to those who travel into the area and those who walk down the street. We encourage other businesses to follow suit in meeting the needs of young families and grandparents by providing appropriate facilities in comfort and privacy throughout the Scone CBD".
