FAQs
What other precautions should I take when installing a rainwater tank?
Other health and safety measures you should consider are:
- You must install an approved back-flow prevention device of you are connecting the tank to any pipe that also connects to the water main.
- You should fit a first-flush device to divert leaves and other contaminants from your roof and gutters away from your tank.
- All openings to the tank should be fitted with mosquito screens
- Obtain engineering advice about the location and design of your tank-stand, as a full tank requires properly designed and built support.
