What size rainwater tank do I need?

For new dwellings, the requirements of the BASIX certificate, DCP No.1, and your own domestic needs will determine the size of the tank and the way you use the water. There is a close correlation between the water-saving requirements of BASIX and the stormwater requirements of DCP No.1, and a suitably sized rainwater tanks may be a convenient way of meeting both criteria. For existing dwellings, you can choose the size that best suits your needs. Your supplier should be able to give you advice on matching your tank to your requirements and the size of your roof.
