Management Plan

Draft Management Plan - 2008/09

Upper Hunter Shire Council's draft Management Plan is on exhibition from Wednesday 7 May 2008 for 28 days until and including Tuesday 3 June 2008. It can be downloaded from the link below and is available at the Council offices in Merriwa, Murrurundi and Scone, and at the Aberdeen, Cassilis, Merriwa, Murrurundi and Scone libraries.

The draft Management Plan contains Council's:

• Vision, mission, charter and objectives
• Functions, activities, services and performance indicators
• Asset replacement program and capital projects
• Environmental activities
• Proposed rates, fees and charges.
• Budget for 2008/9 - 2011/12

Exhibition of this draft plan will provide an opportunity for members of the community to make a written submission to Council in regard to the content and priorities identified in the draft documents.

Community meetings have also been arranged to discuss the draft Management Plan. Meetings times are 7pm to 8.30pm and will be at the following locations:

• Aberdeen Community Hall 13 May 2008
• Council Chambers, Main St, Scone 15 May 2008
• Murrurundi RSL Hall 20 May 2008
• Council meeting room, Merriwa 22 May 2008

The closing date for submissions is 3 June 2008. Council will consider the submissions at its meeting to be held on 23 June 2008.

Current Management Plan 2007/08 - 2010/11

The Management Plan for 2007/8 - 2010/11 was adopted by Council on 25 June 2007.  Council scheduled a series of public meetings to explain the Plan and sought input from the community.

The Management Plan contains Council's

• vision, mission, charter and objectives

• functions, activities, services and performance indicators

• asset replacement program and capital projects

• environmental activities

• proposed rates, fees and charges

• budget for 2007/08 - 2010/11

Strategic Plan & Future Works Program

The Strategic Plan, is a non-statutory plan developed by Council to enable it to look broadly at its long term objectives, well beyond the statutory Management Planning period of three years and having thought through its longer term goals, to define milestones in both the medium term (5-10 years) and the shorter term (1-5 years) to meet these longer term goals.
