Events announced.......through ABC Upper Hunter and 2NM Week commencing August 18th 2008.

Murrurundi Regular Events

Yoga Classes will be held at the RSL Hall Murrurundi Thursday nights at 6pm and Friday mornings at 10am. All ages and stages are welcome. Cost is $10 for Adults and concession $8 for 1 hour. Please contact Deborah Miller regarding extra classes on 6546 6704.

Senior Computer Classes are being held on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month from 10am to 1pm at the Murrurundi CTC. Cost is $3 per class. For further information please contact Robyn Orman on 6546 6440.

Relay for Life is an event that honours those whose lives have been touched by cancer. Teams of 10 - 15 people walk around the oval and fundraise through activities or sponsorship raising money in the fight against cancer. To register go to http://www.relayforlife.com.au/ or call into the neighbourhood centre and pick up an information pack.

Tuesday August 19

Scots Presbyterian Church's Annual casserole Luncheon will commence at 11.30am at the Scone Bowling Club. Cost is $18 per head. Plus there will be combined produce and fancy food stalls and Joan Manning's Music. Please RSVP by phoning 6545 2153. All are welcome.

The next ADFAS meeting will be held at the Scone Arts & Crafts Centre. Guest speaker will be Susannah Fullerton and her subject is "those Milford Girls".  Members and Visitors are welcome.  The illustrated lecture will begin at 6.30pm sharp so attendance by 6.15pm would be appreciated.

Friday August 22

The Scone Neighbourhood Centres Virtual Shed Programme will commence at 6.30pm at the Scone RSL Club with special guest Bill Harrigan and also featuring Tim McLoughlin - Bush Poet and Dr Steve Sylvester (GP). For Bookings phone the RSL Club on 6545 1669.

Scone Films presents a number of short films Tonight at 7.30pm upstairs at the Scone RSL - $5 entry fee.  There will be tea coffee and cake after the films with a gold coin donation.  Further information give us a call at the Scone VIC

A reminder to the Scone Community that Daffodil Day is today. Members of the Scone & District Cancer Support Group will again be selling fresh daffodils and merchandise outside Mitre 10 in Scone from 8.30am.  They will also be calling on all business houses in Scone for those wishing to purchase fresh flowers or merchandise.  For further information please contact Dianne Deery 6545 1895.

Saturday August 23

Country Style Expo will be held at St Andrew's Uniting Church from 10.30am to 2pm. Admission is $2.00 with Morning and lunch available. This event is organised by Rouchel Fellowship. Stall holders will include Murra County Home cooking, Towarri China Painting and Folk Art, Lavender Products, Chocolates, Heather Ware, Upper Hunter Woodworkers and much more.

Scone Films presents a number of short films commencing at 2.30pm upstairs at the Scone RSL - $5 entry fee. There will be tea, coffee and cake after the films with a gold coin donation.  

Saturday October 4

Scott Memorial Hospital is having a reunion dinner for past and present staff. Dinner will be held at the Scone Bowling Club commencing at 6.30pm. It has been 20 years since they have had a reunion and 95 years since the hospital was officially opened on the present site. Cost is $25 per person. Please RSVP by September 12 to J. The Scone Garden Ramble will commence from 10am - 4pm each day. Tickets are $10 per person and may be purchased from the Scone Visitor Information Centre. There wil be Lucky ticket prizes, stalls etc. For more details please contact Sarah Howey on 02 6545 1859 or Email sarahhowey@hotmail.com .
